Chinese Consulate in Cebu extends help, donates ambulance

On July 24, 2020, the Chinese Consulate General in Cebu donated an ambulance to the Department of Health Region 7 through the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas. Consul General JIA Li, Presidential Assistant Michael Dino, and DOH Regional Director Jaime Bernadas attended the turnover ceremony.

Presidential Assistant Dino and DOH7 Regional Director Bernadas thanked the Chinese Consulate Office for the donation and expressed that since the virus outbreak in the Philippines, China has strongly supported the Philippines in handling the challenge of COVID-19. It has donated various medical supplies to help the Philippines combat the pandemic. The ambulance donated by the Chinese Consulate Office is very timely and will be used immediately in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. This fully reflects the deep relationship between China and the Philippines as one family.

Consul General JIA Li said that the friendship between China and the Philippines has a long history. Over the past 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have continuously deepened their cooperation in various fields and have always stood by and helped each other in the face of disasters. China will continue to work hand in hand with the Philippines to tackle COVID-19. It is believed that with the joint efforts, we will overcome this pandemic very soon.
