Xi Jinping pointed out that 2017 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. Bilateral relations have enjoyed a comprehensive and in-depth development in recent years. China is willing to work with Germany to push China-Germany all-round strategic partnership for greater development. As the world's important economies and firm advocators of globalization, China and Germany are obliged to promote all parties to jointly build an open world economy and safeguard the effectiveness and authoritativeness of multilateral trade rules and systems. Strengthening bilateral cooperation conforms to the fundamental interests of both countries, and is conducive to deepening the relations between China and the European Union (EU) as well. China is will to, together with Germany, send a positive message of openness, cooperation and win-win results to the outside world.
Xi Jinping pointed out economic and trade cooperation are the key driving forces of China-Germany relations. Both China and Germany should strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in economy and trade as well as communication and consultations, make overall plans for and well implement the high-level fiscal and financial dialogue, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, security dialogues and other mechanisms between both countries. China supports Germany to host the G20 Hamburg Summit, and is willing to work with Germany to advance the G20 to carry forward the partnership spirit of mutual help and win-win cooperation, and push forward the Hamburg Summit, on the basis of Hangzhou Summit, to send out a clear, strong and positive message regarding international economic cooperation and global economic governance, so as to create a global economy that features stronger growth, more effective governance, more open trade and more inclusive development.
Xi Jinping stressed that China supports the European integration process. China and the EU should be committed to establishing the four partnerships of peace, growth, reform and civilization from a strategic and long-term perspective in a bid to jointly build a peaceful, open, inclusive and prosperous world.
Angela Merkel said that the current Germany-China relations have maintained a sound momentum in its breadth, depth and development. Speaking highly of the important speech President Xi Jinping delivered at the World Economic Forum held in this January in Davos, Germany supports the "Belt and Road" initiative, and thanks China for its support to Germany in hosting the G20 Hamburg Summit. Germany is willing to, together with China, intensify high-level exchanges, strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, investment and development, deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges in a bid to elevate Germany-China all-round strategic partnership to a new level. Germany is ready to commit itself to pushing EU-China relations for constant development.
