2019-02-20

On February 20, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mahamoud Ali Youssouf of Djibouti at Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan expressed that China and Djibouti enjoy long-standing friendship as well as sound and stable relations. The two countries are good friends and good brothers who always understand and support each other's core interests and major concerns. It is hoped that both sides will take the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as the guidance as well as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of China-Djibouti diplomatic relations as an opportunity to further enhance practical cooperation in various fields. China unswervingly follows the socialism path with Chinese characteristics, strengthens Party discipline in an all-round way, constantly deepens reform and expands opening-up, and meets the people's ever-growing needs for a better life. The Chinese side is willing to enhance exchanges of experience in state governance and administration with the Djiboutian side.

Mahamoud Ali Youssouf said that the progress of Djibouti-China strategic partnership is satisfying, and expressed appreciation for the Chinese side's long-term friendly help. The Djiboutian side stands ready to learn from the Chinese side's experience in development and in the construction of the ruling party to open up a new era of Djibouti-China cooperation.

Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of Industry Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh of Djibouti was present.
