Li Keqiang Meets with President Halimah Yacob of Singapore

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Singapore are facing each other across the sea. The two countries have developed sound relations on the basis of mutual respect, equal cooperation and mutual benefit and win-win results, bringing benefits to the two peoples. Singapore maintains diverse civilizations. Yesterday, President Xi Jinping held a fruitful meeting with Ms. President and looked into the broad prospects for bilateral relations. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Singaporean side, give full play to respective advantages, maintain a good momentum of cooperation, continue to tap into cooperation potential, align the Belt and Road Initiative with the development strategies of the Singaporean side, promote the alignment of China's western regions and Singapore, and deepen bilateral cooperation on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and in areas such as third party markets, smart city and skill training. It is hoped that both sides will promote civilization and cultural exchanges, intensify personnel exchanges, and cement the public opinion foundation of the friendship between the two countries, so as to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side is ready to work with the Singaporean side to address global challenges and contribute to the peaceful and stable development of the world and the region.

Halimah Yacob said that Singapore unswervingly develops relations with China. At present, bilateral relations have enjoyed robust development, and cooperation projects have been running smoothly. Singapore's different races and ethnic groups live in harmony. The Singaporean side stands ready to strengthen cultural exchanges with the Chinese side, learn China's experience in developing new technologies, and enhance people-to-people exchanges and connectivity. Singapore supports an open world system, multilateralism and a free trade system, and is willing to enhance cooperation with China in this regard.
