On August 2, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar of Mongolia in Bangkok, Thailand.
Wang Yi expressed, this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia diplomatic relationship. The relations between the two countries have developed smoothly. The two sides have enjoyed frequent high-level exchanges, carried forward the friendship, enhanced mutual trust and promoted cooperation. Both sides should take the opportunity of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia diplomatic relationship to steadily consolidate political mutual trust, accommodate each other's core interests and major concerns, boost the in-depth integration between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Development Road Initiative and achieve substantive results at an early date. Both sides should keep strengthening multilateral coordination and adding new connotation and vitality to China-Mongolia relations.
Damdin Tsogtbaatar expressed, this year is of milestone significance for Mongolia-China relations. The Mongolian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to ensure the success of a series of celebration activities for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries. The current international situation is faced with rising uncertainty and instability. The Belt and Road Initiative represents multilateralism, which is conducive to promoting sustainable regional growth and achieving the goal of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping. Mongolia is willing to fully support and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative. Highly valuing its relations with China, the Mongolian side believes that a stable, strong and prosperous China serves the interests of Mongolia and can bring important development opportunities to Mongolia. The Mongolian side will continue to firmly adhere to the One-China policy, strengthen mutual political trust and practical cooperation in various fields, and work with the Chinese side to elevate bilateral relations to new highs.
