|Li Keqiang Arrives in Bangkok for His Attendance at the Series of Leaders' Meetings on East Asia Cooperation and Official Visit to Thailand|
On the evening of November 2, 2019 local time, invited by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand, Premier Li Keqiang arrived at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand. Li Keqiang will attend the 22nd China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Summit, the 22nd ASEAN Plus China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) Summit and the 14th East Asia Summit and pay an official visit to Thailand.
Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak of Thailand led senior government officials to greet Premier Li Keqiang at the airport. The guard of honor lined along the red carpet. Somkid Jatusripitak presented flowers and a bracelet to Li Keqiang.
Li Keqiang expressed, faced with increasing global economic downward pressure and increasing uncertainties and destabilizing factors, no country can remain immune. Cooperation is the trend of the times and we can achieve mutual benefit and win-win results through cooperation. The Chinese side expects the series of Leaders' Meetings on East Asia Cooperation to focus on practical cooperation, multilateralism, free trade and dialogue and consultation, maintain regional peace and stability, support regional countries in developing their economies and improving people's livelihood, build a higher level of regional economic integration and promote greater development of East Asia cooperation.
Li Keqiang pointed out, China and Thailand are neighbors with close and friendly relations, and the bilateral relations have maintained sound and stable development. I look forward to strengthening the China-Thailand friendship through this visit, deepening mutually-beneficial cooperation, bringing our relations even closer and making our practical cooperation better to push for constant and new achievements in bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Li Keqiang will also attend the 3rd Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Summit and a luncheon for sustainable development, and hold bilateral meetings with leaders of relevant countries.
During his stay in Thailand, Li Keqiang will hold talks with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand, and join him in witnessing the signing of bilateral cooperation documents and meeting the press. Li Keqiang will meet with Chuan Leekpai, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand, and have extensive contacts with people from all sectors of the Thailand.
State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Xiao Jie and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.
H.E. Lyu Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand and H.E. Huang Xilian, Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, also greeted Premier Li Keqiang at the airport.
Li Keqiang arrived in Bangkok from Tashkent after attending the 18th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Government and paying an official visit to Uzbekistan. Upon leaving Tashkent Airport, Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdul Hakimov of Uzbekistan led senior government officials to the airport to see Premier Li Keqiang off. H.E. Jiang Yan, Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, also saw Li Keqiang off at the airport.
