|Wang Yi: Help our African brothers realize the "African dream" at an early date|
State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Nagoya, Japan November 23 local time.
Wang Yi said that to better help Africa achieve independent and sustainable development, it is necessary to help Africa focus on breaking the three major development bottlenecks of backward infrastructure, talent shortage and lack of funds, and solve the three major livelihood issues of employment, food and clothing and health. To this end, the Chinese side remains committed to pursuing the greater good and shared interests and to the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith in helping Africa develop. China has helped Africa build more than 10,000 kilometers of highways, more than 6,000 kilometers of railways, and a large number of libraries, schools, hospitals and other livelihood facilities throughout the continent, greatly boosting local development. More than half of the eight major initiatives announced at the Beijing FOCAC Summit last year and their supporting financing have been implemented or made with concrete arrangements. Developed countries must also earnestly fulfill their commitments to Africa and provide practical assistance in terms of capital and technology. China is willing to work together with all parties to give full play to their respective advantages and jointly promote peace, stability and development in Africa and help our African brothers realize the "African Dream" at an early date.
