|Wang Yi Meets with President of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade Yohei Kono|
On November 25, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with President of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade Yohei Kono in Tokyo.
Wang Yi said, with the efforts of both sides, China-Japan relations have shown a momentum of improvement and development. Going forward, there will be important opportunities for the development of bilateral relations, but there will also be noises and interferences. The two sides should cherish more what has been achieved and work together to ensure the development of bilateral relations in the right direction, which is not only in the interests of our two countries and our peoples, but also of great significance for the two sides to jointly cope with the current uncertain and unstable world. I believe that you and the association under your leadership will continue to make positive efforts to build China-Japan relations that fit the needs of the new era.
Yohei Kono said, Japan-China relations have encountered serious difficulties in the past period. Fortunately, people with insight from both sides have been actively committed to improving bilateral relations. I am glad that Japan-China relations have been brought back to the normal track. The Japanese people look forward to President Xi Jinping's state visit to Japan. I believe it will be of epoch-making significance in improving the feelings between the two peoples. I will continue to make efforts to promote the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
